Alex Renirie is the Colorado and New Mexico organizer for the Sierra Club’s campaign to cut methane emissions. After several years campaigning for human rights and social justice organizations in California and Massachusetts, she came to Santa Fe, New Mexico to work for a small renewable energy advocacy non-profit. Captivated by environmental justice and shocked by rampant oil and gas development in the Southwest, she recently joined the Sierra Club team to oppose further extraction of dirty fuels. She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is a firm believer in the power of grassroots organizing to create necessary social change.
