Leslie Robinson has been living in Rifle for over 40 years and as a result, been exposed to oil and gas politics since the Oil Shale Boom and Bust in the 1980’s. In the late 1990’s, oil and gas exploration began in earnest and with fracking technology and Bush policies that opened vast areas in our public lands, experienced major negative impacts in air, water, wildlife and environment, human health, and quality of life. The natural gas bust has done nothing to stop this onslaught. Leslie is Chair of the Grand Valley Citizens Alliance, which helps people fight the industry political and social machine. Her professional background includes being a journalist by trade and social services works such as director of local county United Way.
